Shift4 Dine pricing, including the fees we have to disclose
We install and support Shift4 Dine, so this page is a test of the whole site: if we soft pedal our own product's costs after publishing everyone else's, nothing here deserves your trust. Here is the full picture, the good parts and the fees.
The short answer
Shift4 Dine pricing, from the dealer, fees first:
- Published $29.99 a month per terminal, hardware included with a lifetime replacement warranty, online ordering and loyalty included.
- Processing interchange plus with the markup stated in your quote; reported standard 2.75% plus 15c, negotiable, high volume reportedly near 2.3% plus 10c.
- The fees we disclose first $250 annual program fee per device, an annual regulatory fee each January, a CPI plus 1% or 4% yearly escalator, on a 36 month agreement.
- Fits best bars, full service and counter rooms that want visible economics; Toast wins some high volume kitchens and we name them.

The published structure
$29.99 a month per terminal, published
On skytab.com's own pricing page, clarified as per terminal by third party reporting. Online ordering, marketing and loyalty, reservations and waitlist, and a website builder are included at that price rather than sold as add-on line items, which against a reported $75 per module elsewhere is the structural difference.
Hardware included, with a lifetime replacement warranty
Workstation, receipt printer, cash drawer, card reader and router at no upfront cost, replaced for life per the published terms. The trade for free hardware is the term commitment below, the same structure as every $0 door in the category, ours included.
Interchange plus processing, the markup stated in writing
The standard reported rate is 2.75% plus 15 cents and it is negotiable; what we actually quote is interchange plus a stated markup, which means the processor margin is a visible number rather than blended into a flat rate. High volume rooms reportedly land near 2.3% plus 10 cents. Your quote states yours.
A dual pricing program exists
Shift4's Advantage Program can move most card acceptance cost off your books via cash discounting, legal in all fifty states when signage and receipts are done correctly. It fits some rooms and not others, and we will tell you which yours is.
The fees a rep might not lead with, listed by the dealer
There is a $250 annual program fee per device. There is an annual regulatory assurance fee, reported between $189.99 and $325 per device, billed each January. There is an annual price escalator of CPI plus 1% or 4%, whichever is greater. The agreement is a 36 month merchant processing agreement following a 30 day trial, and Shift4 processing is required, you cannot bring your own processor. No early termination fee figure is published; ask us and we will show you the current agreement language rather than characterizing it.
Why publish this against our own interest? Because the alternative is you finding it in a January statement, and because our whole position is that the category's problem is what goes unsaid until after signatures. Every fee above appears in our quotes, itemized. Ask any competing rep for the same list on their paper and compare what you get.
The honest fit summary, same as we give in person: Shift4 Dine is strongest in bars, full service and counter service rooms that want included online ordering and visible processing economics. Toast's deeper kitchen modules win in some high volume rooms and we name those rooms on the comparison page. Square wins small simple rooms that value no contract above everything, and we say that too.
Questions owners ask
What does Shift4 Dine cost in total?
$29.99 per terminal monthly, hardware included, plus processing at interchange plus a stated markup, plus the annual fees itemized above: $250 program fee per device, a regulatory fee per device each January, and a yearly escalator, on a 36 month agreement. Our quotes carry every line; the calculator on this site runs the published figures against your volume.
Why is there a 36 month contract?
The included hardware and onboarding are financed by the term, the same economics as every $0 upfront offer in the category. The difference we can offer is stating it plainly and itemizing the annual fees next to it, so the commitment you sign is the one you saw.
Is SkyTab the same thing as Shift4 Dine?
Yes. SkyTab was renamed Shift4 Dine in May 2026. Same platform, same $29.99 published price point, same parent company.
Will you tell me if a competitor is a better fit?
Yes, in writing, on the comparison pages and on the first call. That policy is the only reason a dealer published site full of competitor pricing deserves to exist, and losing the occasional sale to Toast or Square is the cost of it staying true.
What does interchange plus actually look like on a statement?
Interchange listed at cost per card type, the network assessments, and then our markup as its own stated line. You can audit it against the card networks' published interchange tables, which is the entire point: a rate structure you can check beats one you have to trust. The statement guide walks through reading one.
Which rooms is Shift4 Dine wrong for?
A brand new concept that might pivot inside a year should think hard before any 36 month agreement, ours included, and Square's exit freedom is worth real money in that situation. And at true enterprise scale, dozens of locations, deeper enterprise benches exist and the multi location page says whose. Every product has a wrong room; a dealer who cannot name theirs is describing a fantasy.
