TouchBistro pricing: a low door, quote-shaped everything else

TouchBistro publishes two plan prices and almost nothing else: no processing rate, no hardware prices, and add-ons that arrive as reported figures. The pattern to understand here is a low advertised door with the real bill assembled later, line by line, which makes the add-on list and the contract terms the two sections that matter most below.

The short answer

TouchBistro pricing at a glance:

  • Software published: $69 Point of Sale, $119 Essentials Bundle with payments and hardware.
  • Processing unpublished, quote based through partner processors.
  • The catch the add-on stack, reported $25 to $229 a month per module, and contract terms two reviewers describe in flatly contradictory ways.
  • Fits best small and mid size table service rooms comfortable on iPads, once the contract question is answered in the draft agreement.

The rest of this page is the case for each line, with sources.

What is published, what is reported

01

Point of Sale at $69 a month, Essentials Bundle at $119, published

The $119 bundle includes integrated payments and hardware, per TouchBistro's own page. Whether either price is per terminal or per location is not stated, so ask, in writing, because the answer multiplies.

02

Processing rates: not published, quote based

TouchBistro partners with processors including Worldpay and Moneris rather than publishing a rate card. Your rate exists only in your quote, which means effective rate in writing is the entire negotiation.

03

The add-on stack is where the bill grows, reported

Merchant Maverick reports gift cards at $25 a month, online ordering at $50, loyalty at $99, marketing at $99, and reservations at $229 a month. A room that wants three of those has tripled its software bill from the advertised door price.

04

A $200 setup fee for new accounts, reported

Reported by Merchant Maverick. Small, but the category's better offers install for free, and it tells you where the pricing philosophy sits.

The contract question has two conflicting answers, which is the finding

Merchant Maverick describes TouchBistro agreements as month to month up to yearly. NerdWallet describes multi year contracts as standard, auto renewing, impossible to terminate early, with early termination fees. Those two descriptions cannot both be true of the same paper, and the difference is the entire risk profile of the purchase.

We do not resolve conflicts like this by picking the friendlier answer. We print both and tell you what to do: ask for the term, the renewal mechanics and the termination clause in the draft agreement, before any pricing conversation gets serious. A vendor whose contract terms surprise its own reviewers is a vendor whose paper you read twice.

On capability, the fair summary is that TouchBistro built a well liked, iPad based system for small and mid size table service rooms, strong on menu management and service basics, lighter on the enterprise and high volume end. The product has real fans; the pricing structure is the part that demands your attention.

Questions owners ask

How much does TouchBistro cost per month?

Published plans are $69 for Point of Sale and $119 for the Essentials Bundle with payments and hardware included. The realistic bill depends on add-ons, reported from $25 to $229 a month each, and on processing rates that exist only in your quote. Price the whole stack you actually need, not the door figure.

Who is TouchBistro actually right for?

Small and mid size table service rooms that want an approachable iPad system and do not need the enterprise end: the product's reputation among owners at that scale is genuinely decent. The fit question is less the software than the paper, which is why the contract conflict above is the first thing to resolve, and the add-on stack the second.

How do I price the add-ons honestly?

List the modules you will really run on day one, price them at the reported figures, and add that to the plan price before comparing anything. A room wanting online ordering, gift cards and reservations is looking at a reported $304 a month beyond the base plan, which changes which competitors the quote should be compared against.

Does TouchBistro require a contract?

Sources conflict outright: month to month per Merchant Maverick, multi year auto renewing with termination fees per NerdWallet. Get the term and termination clause in the draft agreement before you negotiate anything else.

What processing rate will I pay with TouchBistro?

Unpublished and quote based, through processing partners. Demand it as an effective rate in writing, then compare it against the published rows in our calculator, because a rate that only exists in a sales conversation is a rate you cannot comparison shop.

Is the $119 Essentials Bundle a good deal?

On its face it is the category's cheapest hardware inclusive door, which is exactly why the two unknowns matter so much: the processing rate that comes with the integrated payments, and the contract terms reviewers describe so differently. Priced with a fair rate on month to month paper it is genuinely competitive; the same bundle wrapped in a multi year auto renewing agreement at an uncompetitive rate is the category's oldest trick wearing its newest price.

What hardware does TouchBistro run on?

iPads, which cuts both ways: familiar, cheap to replace and easy to add, but consumer tablets in a kitchen environment need real cases and a spares plan, and the hardware budget is on you unless the Essentials Bundle covers it. Ask exactly which devices the bundle includes and what a replacement costs mid contract.
